Pedal to the Metal [by Kazzer]
From the album:

Go For Broke
(Sorry, no image!)

Lyrics:

I'm like a 454
With the 4 on the floor
Deuce coupe coming at you
Avoiding the capture
Far from stock I'm chopped and ready to rock
In the city of steel
Catch me crusin down the block
But nowadays are difficult
I'm out on my own
Drive an 86 Jetta
Hoping that I could do better
But my car keeps me humble
In the concrete jungle
Despite the wear and tear
It seems to always get me there

Rebuilt the motor because
She decided to blow
And what do you know
Someone stole my stereo, when it's
Time to go I put my foot on the floor
Let the deasel do the work
I ain't complaining no more
Highways and straighaways
Offroads and open roads
No matter where I go
I'll still be making the show
It's kinda like life
And life treats you good
It's not what's on the outside
It's what's under the hood

Put the pedal to the metal and I'm off and never getting lost
Which way will I turn when roads cross
Press the petal to the metal little more when it's scary
But one thing for sure, keep my foot on the floor
Put the pedal to the metal and I'm off and never getting lost
Which way will I turn when roads cross
Press the petal to the metal little more when it's scary
But one thing for sure, keep my foot on the floor

It doesn't matter what you drive
It's how you drive what you got
Discipline you can win
Just let the tire spin
And begin
The journey of life with each stride
Meet me on the other side
Let me know when you arrive
Sometimes we collide
Be sure that your insured
Got the back up plan
Alternitive program
Who I am, Doesn't reflect material wealth
My vehicle approaches stealth
I'm coming with the wickedness so I can take them out with my style
Style style style style when I bust the true school watch this hip hop

Put the pedal to the metal and I'm off and never getting lost
Which way will I turn when roads cross
Press the petal to the metal little more when it's scary
But one thing for sure, keep my foot on the floor
Put the pedal to the metal and I'm off and never getting lost
Which way will I turn when roads cross
Press the petal to the metal little more when it's scary
But one thing for sure, keep my foot on the floor

Won't stop drivin till it's over
Still be crusin when the sun goes down
Won't stop drivin till it's over
Still be crusin when the sun goes down

Put the pedal to the metal and I'm off and never getting lost
Which way will I turn when roads cross
Press the petal to the metal little more when it's scary
But one thing for sure, keep my foot on the floor
Put the pedal to the metal and I'm off and never getting lost
Which way will I turn when roads cross
Press the petal to the metal little more when it's scary
But one thing for sure, keep my foot on the floor

Put the pedal to the metal and I'm off
Put the pedal to the metal and I'm off
Pedal to the metal and I'm off

With a 62 bird and I'm out like that and I'm out

Why this song?

Well, I chose this song because it is catchy, fun and is a great way to put an end to my weekend full of sports car racing. (That would be why the last few days are minus the song of the day. Not that being at home would have helped -- My area was one of the lucky ones without power. Fun!) This song is not only about cars, which I love, but also feature the great sounds that they produce. Warning, this song grows on you. It did me anyhow!

Black Hole Sun [by Soundgarden]
From the album:

Lyrics:

In my eyes
Indisposed
In disguise
As no one knows
Hides the face
Lies the snake
The sun
In my disgrace

Boiling heat
Summer stench
'Neath the black
The sky looks dead
Call my name
Through the cream
And I'll hear you
Scream again

Black hole sun
Won't you come
And wash away the rain
Black hole sun
Won't you come
Won't you come

Stuttering
Cold and damp
Steal the warm wind
Tired friend
Times are gone
For honest men
And sometimes
Far too long
For snakes

In my shoes
A walking sleep
And my youth
I pray to keep
Heaven send
Hell away
No one sings
Like you
Anymore

Hang my head
Drown my fear
Till you all just
Disappear

Why this song?

One of the great classics of my past. Lives on through the ages and in my honest opinion continues to be one of the best songs I've ever had the pleasure of enjoying. Somehow, I managed to get it stuck in my head this morning -- not that I minded in the least. In fact, I dug it out of my ever-growing stack of music, popped it into my CD player and used this opportunity to really appreciate it once more as it is rarely heard on the radio these days.

Tourniquet [by Evanescence]
From the album:

Lyrics:

I tried to kill the pain
But only brought more
I lay dying
And I'm pouring crimson regret and betrayal
I'm dying praying bleeding and screaming
Am I too lost to be saved
Am I too lost?

My God my tourniquet
Return to me salvation
My God my tourniquet
Return to me salvation

Do you remember me
Lost for so long
Will you be on the other side
Or will you forget me
I'm dying praying bleeding and screaming
Am I too lost to be saved
Am I too lost?

My God my tourniquet
Return to me salvation
My God my tourniquet
Return to me salvation

My wounds cry for the grave
My soul cries for deliverance
Will I be denied Christ
Tourniquet
My suicide

Why this song?

The answer's simple. The song caught my attention from the first time I heard it. I loved it, remembered it, played it a few dozen times and still love it. If that isn't worth the $16 I spent for the album, I don't know what is! It has a great tune, and is fun to sing along to as well.
